Grade

What is the Score

  • The score or points are there to indicate how 'important' the suggested improment is compared to others
  • That way you can pick your battles in terms of what matters to you.
  • The score indicates remaining points to achieve all the points in each category.
  • The remaining points impact your Grade.
  • The less remaining points you have the higher your category Grade will be
  • The less remaing points you have overall, the higher your overall website grade will be.
  • There is some tolerance to account for false positives or suggested improvements that are not relevant to the reviewed website.

What is the Grade

  • The Grade is similar to a school report card
  • It is a means for you to understand how your website is doing for each category.
  • The Grade symbolises how well the reviewed website performed at a point in time.
  • The incentive is to improve the website Grade so you can flex.
  • Conducting regular website reviews will keep you upto date on ongoing testcases.

Essentials Review

Is it Safe

  • We do not do any intrusive testing.
  • The tests are designed to be gentle and to not damage your website.
  • The tests will look for indicators that essential topics have been addressed.

Comprehensive testing

  • The Essential Review is not designed to overwelm you with an ungodly amount of technical mumbo jumbo.
  • The test suite covers a limited series of tests to give you an indication of where you may need to improve.
  • The test suite is not designed to cover everything and is by no means comprehensive.
  • If this is what you are looking for, we suggest getting professional services that can do a deep dive.

False Positives

  • We take alot of care in crafting the tests
  • However there are a million and one ways to implement a website
  • So there may be times where a test incorrectly passes/fails during the website review.
  • Such is the reality of the online world.
  • So don't be alarmed.
  • Let us know and we will look into improving the test mechanics to see if it can be improved.

Not Relevant

  • Some tests may not be relevant to your website.
  • However we have tried to stay away from niche tests that would generate alot of irrelevant assesments.
  • For the most part, all tests are inscope for all website
  • Having a proffesional at hand to help you understand whether it is relevant for those edge cases is probably a good idea.

How often should I do a Review

  • We do not consider adding new content to your website as an update. (e.g. a new product/blog entry is not what we consider an update.)
  • We consider an update to be when there is a new/change to features, design, functionality etc.
  • When an update of this nature has happened, you may want to consider doing a Review Update.
  • This may also help you know whether your contractor delivered on what was expected.
